Results of the 60th Lithuanian Foundation Members’ Meeting
On April 29, 2023, the Lithuanian Foundation (LF) invited LF members, supporters, and guests to the Lithuanian World Center (Lemont, IL) for its Members’ Meeting.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Tauras Bublys opened the meeting. The national anthems of the United States of America and the Republic of Lithuania were played. A moment of silence was observed for LF members who had passed away since April 2022.
Sigrida Mulevičienė, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Chicago, Giedrė Elekšytė-Knieža, Chairperson of the LAC Cultural Council, Janina Sučylienė, Chairperson of the LAC Lemont Chapter, and Vice Chairperson Violeta Valaitytė came to address the Lithuanian Foundation.
Secretary of the meeting Laima Apanavičienė read the greetings sent by Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the United States Audra Plepytė, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in New York Vaclovas Šalkauskas, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Los Angeles Laima Jurevičienė, Principal of the Vasario 16 Gymnasium (Germany) Rasa Weiss and the Lithuanian World Centre.
The summary of the minutes of the 60th Lithuanian Foundation Members’ Meeting, held on April 30, 2022, was read by its secretary, Ms. Apanavičienė.
Antanas Razma, Jr., Chairman of the Registration Commission, announced that 9,901 votes (38.8% of the total number of available votes) had been cast. Therefore, a quorum was maintained.
Marius Kasniūnas, Chairman of the Nominations Committee, presented six candidates to the LF Board of Directors.
2022 was the anniversary year of the Lithuanian Foundation. On this occasion, Tauras Bublys, Chairman of the Board of Directors, presented to the guests LF’s major achievements throughout the 60 years. Audronė Pavilčius-Karalius, LF President, gave an overview of the activities during the anniversary year. Gintaras Vaišnys, Chairman of the Finance Committee, Laima Kilienė, the Treasurer, and Juozas Kapačinskas, Chairman of the Grants Commission, also delivered their reports. Mr. Bublys read the Development Committee’s report, sent by its Chairman, Jonas Howes.
The Vote Counting Commission Chair, Vytenis Kirvelaitis, reported that five new members were elected to the LF Board of Directors for a 3-year term: Tauras Bublys, Milda Davis, Juozas Kapačinskas, Gintaras Vaišnys, Dalius F. Vasys.

After the 60th Members’ Meeting, the Board of Directors met and elected Mr. Bublys as its Chairman and Ms. Pavilčius-Karalius as President for a one-year term.
Tauras Bublys was elected Chairman of the LF Board of Directors for one year, and Audronė Pavilčius-Karalius was elected LF President.
