INTRODUCTION

Your privacy is important to The Lithuanian Foundation Inc. We’ve updated our Data Privacy Policy that covers how we collect, use, disclose, transfer, and store your information, as well as the choices you have when it comes to your information and how it’s treated. Collection and Use of Personal Information

Personal information
  • Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact a single person.
  • You may be asked to provide your personal information anytime you are in contact with us.
  • You are not required to provide the personal information that we have requested, but, if you chose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide you with our services, grants or scholarships or respond to any queries you may have.
Payment information
  • Payment information is required for donations and some of our services. Your sensitive payment details are used solely for billing purposes by our certified payment provider, PayPal. We do not store payment information on our systems, and only authorized employees at The Lithuanian Foundation Inc. can view transaction information.
IP Address, Cookies and Plug-ins      
  • When you visit our website and microsites, our web server automatically recognizes your IP address.
  • The IP address may be used to gather broad demographic information.
  • Occasionally, we may use cookies to improve content, provide easier access and understand how visitors use our websites.
  • By continuing to use our website, you are agreeing to such use of cookies and plug-ins.
We collect personal information about you in the following ways: 
  • Through the Lithuanian Foundation Inc. configured web forms located on Lithfund.org
  • Through the Lithuanian Foundation Inc. configured web forms located on sites hosted by our third-party service providers for scholarships, grants, survey forms and payments.
  • Public comment letters, surveys, and other information submitted by you.
  • Email communications.
  • Donations made to The Lithuanian Foundation Inc.
  • Payments made for attending an event.
  • Phone calls
Your personal information may be used by us to:
  • Build and market services based on user trend and user interest analysis
  • Personalize your website experience

  • Communicate with you by responding to your requests, comments, and questions. If you contact us with questions or concerns about our work or services, we may use your personal information to respond.

Children’s Privacy

The Lithuanian Foundation site is not directed to children under the age of 13, although children of any age may become members when a donation is made in their name by an adult. If we become aware that a child under 13 is personally using our site, we will delete any data that may have been collected about that child.

Third-Party Sites and Services

We share your personal information with the following trusted third parties to provide, improve, protect and analyze our grants and scholarships:

  • Foundant Technologies (grants and scholarship software)
  • PayPal (payment and donation processing)

These third parties will access and use your information only to perform tasks on our behalf in compliance with our Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

We keep information about you and your use of our services for as long as necessary for our legitimate business interests in understanding stakeholder interest and usage patterns over time, and other or legal reasons described above. If you’d like to request that we delete your data, you can do so by contacting us at  admin@ltihfund.org

Opting Out of Communications

Withdrawing Consent – You have a right to ask us to stop using or limit our use of your personal data in certain circumstances-for example, if we have no lawful basis to keep using your data, if you think your personal data is inaccurate, or if you have given us consent to use certain data and you’ve changed your mind. If you believe that The Lithuanian Foundation has no lawful basis for using your personal data, or believe there are other inaccuracies in your personal data, please let us know by contacting us at admin@lithfund.org

Email Communication – If you do not wish to receive communications from us, you can use the links provided in each email communication to opt out of any future communications.

Security measures and data breach.

We and our third-party data processors maintain appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect user data, and conduct ongoing monitoring, training, auditing and improvement of such measures. In the event of a data breach, we will promptly take steps to mitigate the breach and if required will notify relevant organizations, individuals and/or authorities. You understand, however, that no data transmission over the internet or stored on a server can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you disclose or transmit to us and cannot be responsible for the theft, loss, destruction or inadvertent disclosure of user data.

Our Privacy Policy is subject to change. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and we will mark the link to our updated Privacy Policy on the homepage of this website. Changes to the Privacy Policy will be dated and will be effective from the date specified forward.

The Lithuanian Foundation is the data controller responsible for your personal data. Any complaints related to the Lithuanian Foundation’s Data and Privacy practices should be emailed to admin@lithfund.org or sent via postal mail to our offices.
