Genovaite and Kazys Treciokas Bequest to the Lithuanian Foundation
We have received some wonderful news – a large bequest from the estate of Genovaite Treciokas of Union, NJ in the sum of $2,787,034. That is the second large bequest this year as well as the second largest in the entire history of the Foundation. Such bequests confirm that people have faith in the Lithuanian Foundation.
This bequest by Genovaite and Kazys Treciokas is a continuation of their participation in the Foundation. Since its inception, they were ardent supporters of the goals of the Foundation. In 1962 they contributed $1,200, a huge sum in those days, and their generosity continued with contributions totaling $2,250. After Genovaite Treciokas’ death, LF received the bequest of $2,787,034. By their direction, earnings from their contributions are to support Lithuanian education, scholarships, culture and literature.
For many years the Treciokas family had followed the activities of the Lithuanian Foundation. They were convinced that the Foundation is judicious in disbursing their hard earned donations. Through their generous contributions they believed that the Foundation will continue with its original goals – support of Lithuanian culture education, and Lithuanian communities in the US, Lithuania and abroad.
