Lithuanian Foundation Members’ 55th Annual Meeting
The 55th Annual Members’ Meeting of the Lithuanian Foundation was held on April 28, 2018 at the Lithuanian World Center (14911 127th St., Lemont, IL 60439). The meeting was opened by Board Chairman Saulius Cyvas. The Lithuanian national anthem was sung by the fourth graders of the Maironis Lithuanian School. Rev. Jonas Morkvėnas, from the Jesus Christ of Crucifixion Church Parish (Lithuania) presented the invocation then read the list of LF members that passed in the last year. Aušrelė Sakalaitė. lit a candle to commemorate for the deceased LF members.
Birutė Kairienė, Midwest District chairwoman of LAC Nacional Executive Committee, greeted the members. Congratulatory letters from Mantvydas Bekešius, Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in Chicago, Dalia Henke, President of the World Lithuanian Community and Sigita Šimkuvienė, President of the American Lithuanian Community were also read. The meeting attendees heard presentations from the Board Chairman Sauliaus Čyvas, President Marius Kasniūnas. Finance Chair Arvydas Tamulis, Treasurer Vytenis Kirvelaitis, Grants Chair Juozas Kapačinskas, Audit Committee member Vacys Šaulys and Development Committee Chair Darius Sabaliūnas.
During the annual meeting, the election of 5 Board members and 3 members to the Audit Committee took place. The following individuals were elected to a 3-year Board term: Rimantas Griškelis, Audronė Pavilčius-Karalius, Antanas Razma, Jr., Rūta Kulbis and Marius Kasniūnas. Likewise, the following individuals were elected to a one-year term on the Audit Committee: Alina Akulič, Richard Chiapetta and Rimas Kapačinskas.

Immediately following the conclusion of the Annual Members’ Meeting, a Board of Directors’ meeting was held at which Audronė Pavilčius-Karalius was elected LF Chairwoman of the Board and Tauras Bublys was elected as LF President.
