The Lithuanian Foundation Celebrated Its 50th Anniversary
On April 14th, 2012 the former President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and The Ambassador from the United States of America to Lithuania Anne E. Derse visited the annual LF members’ meeting and congratulated the initiators, as well as members and donors with the 50th anniversary of the Foundation.

A celebratory gala was held on Saturday, April 14, at The Hyatt Lodge (Oak Brook, IL) hotel. The Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the United States of America and Mexico Zygimantas Pavilionis, as well the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania Arunas Gelunas congratulated all guests, members, donors, and board members with the occasion. Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs Evaldas Ignatavicius read a greeting sent by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Audronius Azubalis.

During the dinner the current Board of Directors honored the initiators of the Lithuanian Foundation – Dr. Antanas Razma, Sr. and Dr. Kazys Ambrozaitis.

Lithuanian Foundation gala event was attended by many of the honorary consuls of Lithuania residing in North America, also by the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Canada Ginte Damusyte, Consul General in Chicago Skaiste Aniuliene and Consul General in New York Valdemaras Sarapinas, as well as many of the staff members from the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Washington, DC. Attending the gala were representatives of the Lithuanian American Community, Lithuanian Scout Association, as well as other organizations, cultural group and Lithuanian school representatives.
